Improv Stars Project

Improv Stars Academy is growing! Moving forward, we are shortening our name to simply Improv Stars, and we have officially become a proud project under our brand-new company, Theatr Adlais CIC.

Our Journey So Far For three successful years, we’ve witnessed firsthand the positive impact improvisation has on young people.

Years 1 & 2: We were incredibly grateful to work alongside the Creative Futures UK project, where the original idea for Improv Stars Academy was born.
Year 3: We transitioned into a self-funded model, supported directly by our amazing parents. During this time, our strong community ties led to a close working relationship with Abergavenny Town Council, who recognized our clear commitment to benefiting the local community.

Because we see how much this work boosts confidence, builds teamwork, and amplifies the youth voice, we want to take it to the next level. Right now, our classes are paid, but our goal is to ensure every young person has the chance to take part.

What’s Next & Why We Formed a CIC By joining forces with Theatr Adlais as a registered Community Interest Company (CIC), our ultimate goal is to make these workshops completely free or far more affordable for families.

We are currently working hard behind the scenes—applying for new grants and seeking support from different organizations—to help us achieve this. With the backing of new funders, this next step will allow us to:

Lower Financial Barriers: Secure funding to fully cover or heavily discount spaces, making classes accessible to everyone regardless of background.
Champion the Youth Voice: Keep creating a safe, high-energy space where young people use improvisation to share their ideas, build confidence, and be heard.
Expand Our Reach: Bring the joy and vital life skills of improv to even more communities and young people across Wales.

Improv Stars is the exact same creative, playful, and supportive space you already know and love—now built on a stronger foundation to serve even more families.
